How To Be A Successful Camgirl
You’re considering becoming a camgirl? Great! But this isn’t a decision you should take lightly, or without some consideration first. I don’t intend this article to discourage you. But I want to inform you about some aspects of this job you should know before you start.
I also want to use this article to give you tips on how to be successful at what you do. Many camgirls fail miserably and give up after a short while. I don’t want that to happen to you. I’d rather you be rewarded with lots of money for being brave enough to give this much of yourself to strangers.
Succeeding as a camgirl isn’t hard for someone who puts effort into it. At the very least, you’d earn enough money to live comfortably, without needing a 9 to 5 job. And its not out of the question that you could make so much money that you can retire young. Many women have done just that, by camming alone.
It Really Is All About The Money
It’s like the old saying about money. You know, money doesn’t make you happy? Well, if you don’t have it, it could make you unhappy and make things miserable for you. But it certainly does not make you happy, though it’s nice to have. It’s the same situation with physical beauty.
-Lynda Carter
A great quote from Lynda to put things in life into perspective. Its true that money won’t make you happy. But having it does relieve the misery, suffering, and burden of not having it. And to many people, that’s good enough. As for physical beauty, that’s already a given. Everyone is beautiful to someone.
Before I begin, and above all else, there’s something you need to decide on. And once you make that decision, you need to burn it into your consciousness and live by it. Because there’s a lot of money at stake here. The question is a fairly straight-forward and simple one. Are you in this to earn serious money? Or are you in this to test people, to see how little effort you can put into it and still get paid?
Camming is something that you’ll get out of it what you put into it. There’s very little middle ground. You’ll either make a lot of money, or you’ll hardly make any money at all. This job is something you need to be able to take seriously. Or you’re wasting not only your own time, but the time of people who would be joining your chatroom.
Have you ever worked a 9 to 5 job? If so, you’ll know that with just about any job you’ll ever have, there’s co-workers who work very hard and always to do the best they’re capable of. And there’s others who do the least quality/least quantity work they can possibly get away with, while still earning a paycheck. Yes, its unfair to the workers who have to pick up the slack of the lazy ones. Especially when they’re not getting paid any extra to do so. But that’s a typical 9 to 5 job.
Well, in world of camming, other models will be all-too happy to pick up the slack of the lazy ones. And they’ll earn a lot of money in the process. So again I stress that camgirls will take from it what they put into it.
You should be in this to earn as much money as you possibly can. Why do I say this? What’s the big deal about having tons of money? If you really have to ask yourself this question, you need to forget about camming. Turn off your computer/device now, and go apply for a job at your local McFuckMyLife restaurant.
Having lots of money is having freedom to do your own thing in your own time. Having lots of money is having financial power over yourself and your destiny. If you don’t have that power, sooner or later someone else will have financial power over you. And this person may not be nice or kind. The day may come when whether your children have a roof over their heads and food to eat, is dictated by whatever mood this person happens to be in on a particular day. This person can be a BF, husband, supervisor, manager, landlord, room mate…whoever.
Some people believe that being naked on webcam for strangers is obscene. I believe people who have financial power over others, and enjoy having the option of abusing that power to cause suffering, is obscene. Having lots of money means you give no one financial power over you. It means there’s no one in your life to force you to endure something that makes you and/or your loved ones suffer. It means you don’t have to deal with “personalities” who may cause you some level of grief in your life.
Now with all that out of the way, please understand that all I can do is present information to you. The important part is for you to comprehend it, try to figure out how it can apply to you, and planning a strategy that will work for you. I have faith in you that you’re able to do this, or else you wouldn’t have the foresight to want to learn about camming. Don’t expect to be spoon-fed or hand-held by anyone. It can’t work that way. Your success as a camgirl isn’t something that anyone can do for you. Its going to have to come from what you learn, and what kind of shows you plan on doing. Or its not going to happen.
“I Had Guys Figured Out Years Ago. I Don’t Need A Guide To Get What I Want From Them.”
This is probably the single biggest mistake women make when going into camming. And probably the number one reason they fail at it miserably and give up in bewilderment.
The mistake made here is an honest one. In real life, any reasonably fit and attractive woman does not in any way have to pursue men. They pursue her. Therefore, she has very little, if any experience at all, in pursuing men. There simply has never been any need to do that in their lives. Your beauty and allure makes you the star of the solar system, with all the planets revolving around you.
But in the online world, it works in the opposite way. Its a situation where the star isn’t the person with the most beauty and allure. The star is the tokens in possession of those who may or may not give them to you. They may or may not have a long attention span to want to stay in your chat for very long. They may or may not remember you once they leave. Therefore, its in your deepest interest as a camgirl to learn to pursue them. Stay focused on what you’re there for. You’re not doing what you’re doing on webcam as a charity or a public service. They’ll certainly take it that way if you don’t make an effort to engage or charm them to some degree. If not, there’s plenty of other camgirls they can choose from who might do what you may have had too much pride to do. And it just may cost you.
From Nothing To Wealth – A Success Story
I am a nude cam model. When my countdowns are finished, I get completely naked. And I do cumshows. So, like, you see everything. Everything. And its live. In a chatroom. On webcam.
-DaisyFairy
The first thing I’d advise any budding camgirl to do, is get advice from an expert and a professional in the field. She’s been there, she’s done that. She’s conquered the world of camming. She’s a success story.
And she’s just an ordinary girl. She could be your neighbor, a cheerleader at high school, someone you pass on the street and admire for being cute. But thanks to the effort she’s put into camming, she’s become someone who should never again have to work a 9-to5 job a day in her life, if she doesn’t want to. She’s gotten where she is by always being focused on success, and not allowing any obstacles to demoralize her or discourage her from doing her job. Just like you, she started out from nothing, and knew little about it.
In the following video (split into two parts), DaisyFairy lays it all out for you, far better than an outsider looking in like myself could ever do.
Engage Your People – Create A Fantasy And Build On It
And now I’ll teach you some basic essentials for success.
There exist across the world many people who have disposable income. Among them, many also desire things to be part of their lives, which they either don’t have or can’t get. These things are what you have in your possession. These things are what you can offer to someone if you choose to give pleasure. This makes you a commodity, something that fuels the exchange of value. Tokens. Money.
The commodity isn’t body parts. Let me say it again. Its not body parts. Its your company. Its your friendliness. Its you being warm and caring to lonely people who don’t otherwise have this in their lives.
To assume its all about body parts, is to assume that giving a frying pan, dinner plates, and eating utensils to a starving person is going to satisfy their hunger. Its a part of it. But its not what its all about.
Unsuccessful camgirls may think, “I’m going to sit here with my boobs out, and not engage anyone in my chat. These people are boring. I don’t care what they have to say. Men like boobs. I’m showing my boobs. So they’ll tip me. I’ll be reading Facebook and Twitter while I wait for the tokens.”
The problem with this approach (and the camgirl may not even realize it) is that she’s essentially treating her chatters with contempt. Contempt is the last thing lonely people want in their lives. They will return this contempt by not tipping her, or tipping her very little. And they’ll stay in her chatroom only for a short while. She has, in essence, treated their tokens with contempt. One may wonder, why is she even camming? She’s the camgirl who quits in bewilderment after a week or two.
Hot women generally don’t talk to lonely people. Talk to them. Lonely people generally aren’t included. Include them. Lonely people feel left out. Don’t let anyone feel left out. Have fun on cam. Include them in your fun. Be happy. Include them in your happiness. Hot women generally don’t involve lonely people in sexual aspects of their lives. Be sexy, involve them in it, and be grateful that they’re enjoying it. They’re not talking? Make them talk to you. Talk to them in a loving way. Think of how Jenna Marbles talks to her beloved dogs. No one talks to lonely people like that.
Speaking to lonely guys like this will make their day. Not speaking like this all the time, of course. But for example, as an immediate reward for receiving a good tip. You’ll be the one camgirl they’ll never forget. You’ll be the one camgirl they’ll always want to see again. You’ll be the one camgirl who they’ll always want to have tokens for.
The point of engaging your people like this? You’ve touched their hearts. You’ve made them feel special. You’ve taken away their loneliness. All this is something money can’t buy. They’ll want to thank you and make you happy for doing this for them. Tipping is an obvious and immediate way to give back to you, to reward you for your kindness. There’s no limit that lonely people who have disposable income will tip you, to show you their genuine gratitude for what you’ve done for them. Have you seen models get tips of crazy amounts like 5k, 10k, or higher? You should now have a pretty good idea why this happens.
Deep down, the chatters know its a fantasy. But they don’t care, as long as you encourage the fantasy, keep it alive, and don’t break it.
Nakedness alone, sex acts alone, ohmibod sessions…as beautiful and exciting as they may are…are hollow without some form of engagement like this.
At the beginning of your shows, be sure to ask (type) in the chatroom if your video and audio are working. If not, usually your people will be silent and wait, assuming you’re in the process of fixing it.
Personality. Personality! Personality!
You want to be friendly. You want to be, basically, the most out-going version of yourself. You want to be super-smiley and happy and just really be interacting with the people around you and making friends.
-Torri Rees
Keep in mind, there’s probably a reason these people are lonely. As such, some of them may not have the greatest social skills when it comes to interacting with women. They may not be aware that there’s things a guy should never say to a woman. Keep this in mind, and be ready to stifle what may be a justified angry reaction from you. Don’t let people see your angry side. Don’t come across as bored. Some people will test you, to see if you’ll do things without being tipped. Don’t let that happen, but be pleasant about it. Don’t come come across as confused, as though you can’t figure out why no one is tipping and you don’t know what to do. Don’t come across as a deep thinker with a stern, serious look on your face.
Think of princess performers working at Disneyland or Disney World. They’re trained very strictly to always come across as cheerful, friendly, gracious, always smiling, always pleasant to see and be around. Everyone is drawn to them. This is the way you should come across to your people in chat. In a perfect world, this would be genuinely how you feel. It shouldn’t be fake. It shouldn’t be forced. While it may not be how you’re actually feeling, its essential. Brush up on your acting skills if you must. The rewards can be better than any Oscar.
Torri Rees, who has nothing to do with camming or adult entertainment, was once a Disney princess performer. She made a video offering tips for women considering auditioning as princess performers themselves. The advice she gives, especially concerning personality beginning at 1:07, is pretty much gospel for anyone also considering becoming a camgirl.
Anna Sentina, who also has nothing to do with camming or adult entertainment, is a very talented bass player. Music is one of her great passions in life. As such, she likes to make videos of herself playing along to popular songs.
In this particular video, she does her thing. She does it well. As in any performance video of any musician, she need do nothing more than sit there, focused on playing her instrument. And she does that. But she does something else that makes every guy who watches this video melt. Its mesmerizing. Just read the comments if you don’t believe me.
What she does is this: every so often in the video, she makes eye-contact with her viewers and smiles.
That’s it. She doesn’t do it as a part of her act. Its not some routine. She just does it because she genuinely enjoys playing bass, playing along to music she likes, and it makes her happy. But just that simple gesture is what makes guys connect to her in a way that turns this video from a mere showcase for appreciating someone’s talent/musicianship, to becoming completely head-over-heels infatuated with her.
As a camgirl, you want as many guys as possible to be infatuated with you on that level. In the real world, perhaps you’ve conditioned yourself to only want to infatuate guys you’re interested in, and perhaps try to avoid infatuating those you may consider as undesirables. As a camgirl, its to your advantage to have as many people possible wrapped around your little finger. But its not just that. You also want to be a buddy, a friend. Someone they can have a good laugh with, brofist with, and drink a beer with. All these things working together creates a fairly-well completed connection that your viewers yearn for.
Guys aren’t complex. The way they’ll react to a woman with an outgoing, magnetic personality is easy to figure out, predictable, and always the same.
I’m not #1 when I’m squirting in your face, but I’m #1 when I’m bawling my eyes out.
-AubriLee
All these things I’ve described above are pointers that some models don’t need to be taught, They just come naturally to a few blessed individuals. When a model really, truly touches the hearts of her viewers… sometimes unexpected, unscripted, unplanned-for events happen. I’ve been watching cams for many years, and only seen an event like this night happen only a handful of times.
Like any other of her shows, AubriLee set her cumshow/squirt goal at 1k tokens. She made her goal, she kept her promise. She did her thing, she did it well. She thanked her tippers and said her goodbyes. She got a little emotional because people kept saying really genuinely nice things to her as she was preparing to log off.
And then it began. People were tipping non-stop, a “yellow wall” as its called. And they weren’t tipping for her to perform anything, or for any particular goal. They were just tipping, kind of like a standing ovation-type thing. But it was even more than that. They simply liked her…LOVED her…so fucking much, they did not want her to leave. To just please stay and do nothing, to just talk to them and keep them company. They didn’t want to deal with the absence in their hearts that her logging off would leave.
So she sat on her bed as this began, still fully naked from her show, thankful and appreciative at first. Then it turned into amazement as the tips continued and continued unabated. Half an hour, an hour later. The tips still going. Her mouth open, in awe, amazement. There was no sign of this letting up. They simply loved her and didn’t want her to leave. “We love you because you’re real.” “Not because I have my titties out?” “Well, it helps.” Two hours later, she couldn’t hold back the tears any longer, realizing they love her for who she is on the inside, not just her physical beauty. They touched her heart as much as she’d touched theirs. Finally, 2 and 1/2 hours later, the tips finally subsided after she absolutely had to log off due to her life’s schedule. She was very moved by their kindness, and very grateful to all her people. “You made me feel really special tonight. I needed that,” she said from the bottom of her heart. “I made myself vulnerable by what I do on cam. And you guys really, truly appreciate me for who I am on the inside.” (I cannot remember the exact quotes word-for-word, but you get the idea.)
Aubri made 36,669 tokens, when she’d only asked for 1,000. Her cam was #1 on the site that night with the most viewers. She’s one model no one will ever forget, and one model that no one will ever want to miss any of her shows in the future. If you can truly touch people’s hearts, this could be you someday.
I Live With Parents And Have No Privacy For Camming!
AmberCutie Forums is a collection of forums specifically for cam girls to help each other overcome problems like this, or any question or problem with camming they may have. This particular topic is covered in this thread.
People Will Call Me A Whore Or A Slut If They Find Out
There’s several ways of looking at this. One way is…do they pay your bills for you? Your rent? Your car payments? If they’re going to criticize you for doing what you do to live in this world, they’re free to give you more money than you’re making as a camgirl, to encourage you to quit the occupation. Oh, they don’t want to do that? Then they can STFU.
Or, you can look at it another way. By age 22 or younger, you may very well already own your home, the land its on, and all your vehicles paid off. You’ll be financially secure and independent. You’ll have the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want. This is everything that anyone who criticizes your occupation will struggle and slave for their entire lives. By the time they reach retirement age, perhaps they’ll have caught up with you to some degree. In the mean-time, as they’re slaving their lives away, maybe they can find some consolation in the knowledge that someone they know is/was naked on the internet. Be sure to send them a vacation card as you work on your tan in Hawaii. And ask them what its like to have to flip burgers for 10 or 12 hours per day.
Should I Tell My BF/Husband I Want To Try Camming?
This can be tricky. Generally I would say, in a relationship, honesty is always the best policy. But for something like camming, being honest can take some unexpected directions.
As a camgirl, you’ll in all likelihood be earning more money than what he makes at his job (assuming he has one). In a relationship, the one who makes more money is often the one who has power in the relationship to set any rules, if any rules need to be set. Some guys may not feel threatened by this power. Others may feel deeply threatened.
He may be open-minded and happy with it. He may be happy for you, even if you’re making more money. He may trust you with camming, and allow you to decide for yourself what you do in your shows without having to consult him first, In such a case, I don’t see honesty as being a problem.
However, some guys may now allow you to do camming. Others may allow it, but with strict rules.
If he’s the type to lay out strict rules for what you can and can’t do, insists on watching all your shows to make sure you adhere to his rules, and throughout your shows, you’re constantly terrified of doing anything that might offend him…my opinion is probably no. Because he’d be fucking around with your money by restricting how much you can earn. Plus, it doesn’t sound like much of a relationship to begin with. If a guy is going to hold you back from earning to your potential, do you really need such dead weight in your life? Financially, you may be better off being single for a while, so you can focus on building your wealth.
There’s also other things to consider. If any horniness you may have has already been completely satisfied by him before you even begin your shows, your shows may suffer for it. You may not feel like doing a cumshow because he’s already done his business with you. This could affect the quality of your shows, and in turn, could affect you earning potential. One solution, aside from trying to put a limit on sex, would be for him to also sign up as a Chaturbate model, so the two of you can satisfy each other on cam. Which leads to the next topic.
I Don’t Want To Be Naked For Strangers!
The age-old question. Should you undress, or be a non-nude model? Being naked to some extent is an expectation and kinda goes with the territory. But its not an absolute necessity if you honestly don’t want to do it.
I have no doubt that being naked for someone, in and of itself, isn’t an issue for you. The issue you probably have is doing it on webcam, on the internet, for strangers that you don’t know. I understand how the idea of that can feel weird and creepy. But like cold water, the hardest part is jumping in.
A valid concern you’ll probably have is the danger of being seen or found out by friends, neighbors, family, teachers, professors, coworkers, others in high school/college. However, sites like Chaturbate give you the ability to block states, provinces, or entire countries from seeing your webcam or even knowing your profile exists.
There’s other steps you can take from being found out. Keep your camming self anonymous. You shouldn’t use or put anything on your Chaturbate account or profile that someone who knows you personally can Google. This can be information such as your name, social media name, or a photo you’ve made and put on social media. If someone Googles you and an adult camsite shows up in the results, its a giveaway. Alternatively, you don’t want a stranger who sees your Chaturbate profile to be able to Google information or photos you’ve put there, and in return find your real-life social media sites when they show up in the search results.
DaisyFairy herself said that she took precautions, but was still found out within days of starting camming. But she said she “owned it.” She continued doing her thing on cam and continued making money. Her life didn’t end. She didn’t allow anyone to discourage her or stand in the way of making herself very wealthy. She’s a much better person now for enduring it.
One reason to choose being a nude model is, as I was saying earlier, you want to include lonely people in that aspect of your life. Telling your chatters “only my BF gets to see me naked / only my BF gets to see me pleasure myself / only my BF gets to see me have orgasms” is breaking the fantasy. Its excluding your chatters to a degree, and essentially excluding their tokens as well. If you’re going to be non-nude, an option would be to make exceptions for private shows/group shows, where your people at least have the option of being included in that aspect of your life if they can buy the tokens.
Some of you will still want to be strictly non-nude, regardless. That is your option. Its also your option to not earn the level of wealth that you’re capable of earning. You could do countdowns for various things like bikini, rubbing oil on your bikini body, handbra, oil handbra, bikini shower, spanking, braless under shirt, show thongs, lift shirt and show bra, pour water on shirt, bikini body paint.
Girl/girl shows are popular. You could get a friend and do countdowns for kissing, touching each others boobs, or whatever. Neither you, nor your partner, is required to be bi or lesbian to do these things. What you and her might consider as silliness and fooling around… for guys, this is the stuff dreams and fantasies are made of. As such, there can be a lot of money in it. Try to make it look like you’re both into it and both getting pleasure from it. Because going through the motions posing for the camera just looks fake. Be sure your partner is a model registered at Chaturbate, for her to be allowed to appear on cam with you.
None of these non-nude activities are stellar for earning tokens. But if you engage your people, build a decent following, build up a good fantasy, these things should earn you a decent income. Certainly not what you’re capable of earning, but it should be significant to some degree.
You Can Check Out Any Time You Like, But You Can Never Leave
This article wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t cover capping or recording. And I don’t tell you about this to discourage you from becoming a camgirl. But you have the right to know, because this will likely happen to you at some point.
There’s always that minority of people who seem to do their best to fuck shit up for everybody. A reality of camming is that sooner or later, someone, somewhere is going to record your shows and put them somewhere on the internet. I don’t agree with it, I don’t encourage it, I’d rather it not happen. But the fact of the matter is, it does happen. And those recording will likely be on the internet long after you’ve retired from camming.
Usually what’s recorded will be put on sites where visitors will have to pay money to download the recordings. This cheats you out of money, it cheats Chaturbate out of money. People know that its not legal to do these things, but they do it anyway.
Aside from being cheated out of money, you’ll be equally concerned with your recordings being found by people you know in real life. However, typically, people you know in real life should not know your model name. So they couldn’t Google recordings of you if they wanted to. In a roundabout way, recordings can serve as free advertising for you. Someone could find your recordings, and in return want to see you on Chaturbate. And end up tipping you.
However, that’s still little consolation. You can find if there’s recordings of you by Googling your model name. And then, there’s a law called DMCA that’s there to protect you from such things. Visit AmberCutie forums to learn the proper use of DMCA to force sites to take down your recordings. I’m sure its already a much-covered topic there, but you’re free to start your own thread as well.
Affiliates Are On Your Side
Most camgirls don’t understand the concept of affiliate websites and how they are any different from the cretins I mentioned above. I myself had never heard of such a thing until I began researching how to earn money online.
Camgirls have mistakenly gone after affiliates. Angry comments, angry e-mails, sometimes with DMCA threats. I’ve gotten these myself on occasion, from a few very misinformed camgirls.
Here’s what it is. An affiliate is someone who typically runs a website, or has some sort of online presence. He/she has an agreement, or “affiliation” with Chaturbate. The point is for the affiliates to use their online presence to advertise/promote models, and herd as many paying people into their chatrooms as possible. And in return, they receive a tiny commission for their efforts if they’re successful. Chaturbate provides tools to help affiliates, such as links to chatrooms and live streams in iFrames. And that’s essentially it.
Most camgirls probably don’t realize that a sizable percentage of their earnings, and the number of people in their chatrooms, are a direct result of many affiliates driving paying traffic to them. Affiliates make money when you make money. Therefore, affiliates have a very strong vested interest in you being a success. But its not like you owe affiliates anything if you’re not a success, or even if you are a success. Affiliates work completely in the background, without any need whatsoever for them to ever interact with you, or any need whatsoever for you to ever interact with them.
I may tweet a response to a camgirl’s tweet on occasion. I may retweet them sometimes to help them out with some campaign, even if I don’t have any direct benefit in doing so. There are a few fairly successful camgirls out there now, who are camgirls because of me. And that’s great. Some camgirls have on occasion asked me to give them heightened presence or promotion. I’m happy to do so, because as a promoter/advertiser, that’s what I do. I don’t ask for or expect anything in return, nor should I. Your success should be any affiliate’s reward.
Even you, as a camgirl, can also be an affiliate with Chaturbate. You can use the affiliate links they provide, to advertise your own chatroom and herd in your own legions of people. All the while earning commissions for doing so, in addition to your normal camgirl earnings. Camgirl or not, if you want to be an affiliate, this link will redirect you straight to Chaturbate’s affiliate sign-up page.
Getting Paid
Camsites are full of legitimate people. But they’re also full of scammers and you need to be aware of them. They prey mostly on new models who don’t know any better than to accept offers of Paypal and/or Amazon gift cards for off-site shows on Skype or something similar. Scammers will typically only want to make you these offers in private messages. Because if they make these offers in public chat, other chatters will often alert you to be cautious.
Paypal payments can easily be canceled after your Skype show is finished. And what’s more, they can then contact Paypal and tell on you for offering adult services, thereby getting your Paypal account banned. So at the end of the day, they’ve gotten a free sex show from you, doing God-knows-what, and you have absolutely nothing in return for it. That’s not what you got into camming for. If someone has money for Paypal, they have money for tokens. If they have tons of money on Paypal, but mysteriously no tokens, let that be a red flag to you.
Amazon gift cards, they can be legit but you have to be careful. I could say a lot of stuff about them. But camgirls themselves have made extensively detailed threads on AmberCutie forums located here and another here about gift cards, Paypal, and Skype. They give a lot more details, personal experiences, and things to be cautious over than I could ever possibly cover.
The bottom line, though, if someone has all this wealth and money for Paypal and gift cards, but strangely no money for tokens, it should be a red flag for you. Tokens are really the only safe and legit way to get paid for your services. Take anything said to you in private messages with a grain of salt. If someone wants to fuck with your money and earnings, the time for being nice to this person is over.
I hope this article has been useful to you. And if you decide to become a camgirl, I wish you nothing but the greatest success. You deserve it. This link will redirect you straight to Chaturbate’s model sign-up form.
